THE MIKE ALBERT PROJECT Featuring Former MEGADETH Guitarist To Perform In Hollywood
April 13, 2005THE MIKE ALBERT PROJECT, the band led by former MEGADETH touring guitarist Mike Albert, are scheduled to perform at The Pink Pussycat in West Hollywood, California on Thursday, April 14. Also appearing on the bill will be JET FUEL, MISSTERY, STRAIGHT JACKITT, TOVA, and THE GYPSY SONS, with a special closing set by THE HEAVY METAL HAPPY HOUR.
According to ChicagoGigs.com, Mike Albert joined MEGADETH in April 1985 after the band had completed the recording of their debut album, "Killing is My Business… and Business is Good". The band's lead guitarist at the time, Chris Poland, had left the band due to personal reasons. In need of a new axeman for the upcoming tour, MEGADETH recruited Mike Albert, who performed all 40 shows with the group. Upon returning, he attended rehearsals for the "Peace Sells…But Who's Buying?" album but left the band shortly after due to "financial issues."
